Investors Hungary for Budapest property

23 June 2008

Investors Hungary for Budapest propertyBudapest has been identified as an area of demand for UK investors looking to purchase overseas property.

Sean Ashdown, Technical Director of property consultant Aquavista, explains that the city has many of the aspects which traditionally prove tempting to those buying a property abroad.

"It is surrounded by extremely good industrial places," he notes.

"Microsoft and Bosch have offices and manufacturing locations all around Budapest."

He observes that the consultancy has dealt with a number of clients buying a property abroad for both residential and business purposes.

Meanwhile, buy-to-let properties to cater for the local student population are also identified as popular among UK investors.

The tourist industry in Hungary appears to have been performing well since the nation joined the European Union in 2004.

In that year alone tourist figures rose by a sixth, while Budapest itself is now a popular location for conferences with more than 150 events each year.
