We're all going on a summer holiday
07 July 2008
Just under half (46 per cent) of British consumers are electing to spend at least one of their holidays in the UK this year, new research by the AA suggests.
The study indicates that 75 per cent of them plan to use their cars for trips within the UK and Europe to reduce travel stress and cut costs.
Nearly a quarter (22 per cent) of Brits are planning to choose a driving holiday as they want to save cash.

Mark Huggins, head of AA Personal Loans, states that the survey shows consumers are being savvy with their cash when making holiday plans this summer.
"People are also thinking carefully about buying smaller cars to save money but it is important to make sure the car you choose is suitable for going on long holiday journeys, with enough room for all your passengers and luggage," he adds.
In related news, the AA recently suggested that consumers ensure they check all of their insurance policies before heading off on holiday.
