Is it smashing to live in the east of England?

10 July 2008

Is it smashing to live in the east of England?Motorists who live in East Anglia and the south of the country are the most likely to experience damage to their car windscreen, according to Churchill Car Insurance.

The large amount of arable farming that takes place in fields close to busy roads contributes to these locales being the most at risk of cracked or broken glass in their vehicle's windscreens, side mirrors or sun roofs.

Claire Foster, spokesperson for the financial service provider, comments: "It is important to get windscreens fixed as soon as they are damaged, even when it is the smallest crack.

"If drivers fail to fix the damage, this could impair people's vision whilst driving."

She adds that there is no sense in delaying a repair to a windscreen as such a claim will not affect a no claims discount.

Meanwhile, figures from uSwitch.com recently suggested that young drivers pay 115 per cent more than other motorists to insurance their cars.
