How much is that pet insurance policy in the window?

15 July 2008

How much is that pet insurance policy in the window?Consumers eager to find the best deal on a pet insurance policy should ensure they shop around, according to Churchill.

Head of pet insurance at the financial services provider Chris Price suggests that people should go directly to insurers rather than just relying on price comparison sites.

The representative explains that this is because these resources do not include all insurance companies.

As such, consumers could miss out on some potential money-saving deals.

He also urges people to make sure what their policy includes.

"Some policies may appear cheaper, but will give you a lot less cover, resulting in a nasty shock when it comes to making a claim," Mr Price continues.

Figures from Animal Friends Insurance suggest that one in three pet owners need to make a claim from their insurance provider every year.

In addition, veterinary fees are increasing at a rate of approximately 12 per cent on an annual basis.
