'No cut' to holiday plans

Britons are more likely to downgrade their holiday plans this year than cut them all together, it has been revealed.
James Fremantle, Industry Affairs Manager at the Air Transport Users Council, revealed that air travel was one of the first things people would cut back on during the credit crunch but that some tour operators were reporting good numbers.
"[People] are still going away, but downgrading from certain holidays to cheaper package holidays," he added.

Mr Fremantle's comments follow the announcement from National Express East Coast Trains that one in five Brits had opted not to travel by plane this summer, in news that may be of interest to people looking at cheap loan deals to fund their vacation plans.
The reasons cited for this included over a quarter who had concerns over the threat of lost luggage, worries about add-on charges and an unwillingness to put up with check-in delays.
