'Til debt do us part?

The ongoing effects of the credit crunch are not stopping people from getting married, it has been asserted.
Rachel Moschke, editor of Wedding Ideas Magazine, explains that many people are simply looking for ways to reduce their outgoings in terms of their big day.
"There are ways [to save money] like doing things yourself, there's a massive market for DIY invitations and favours at the moment and it also adds a personalisation to the day and makes your day unique," she states.
Ms Moschke adds that involving friends and family can also be an effective way of cutting costs, by getting someone to bake the cake or play an instrument at the reception.
Concluding, she suggests that the more a family is involved in a wedding then the more personalised and special it can be.
According to You & Your Wedding magazine's National Cost of a Wedding Survey 2008, the average price of a big day stands at £20,273.
