Go for brokers, says BIBA
11 September 2008
The British Insurance Brokers' Association (BIBA) is reminding motorists of the help that is available to them in the UK market.
Graeme Trudgill, Technical and Corporate Affairs Executive at BIBA, suggests that using such a professional could help drivers in high-cost areas to find cheap car insurance.
"If you're looking at people with a low income over the high cost of living in London or Birmingham then it all adds up," he says.

He adds that, taking into account the cost of car insurance compared with their earnings, "it's going to be harder for them to afford it".
Mr Trudgill asserts that, even if a broker is unable to secure cheap car insurance, they may be able to offer alternatives.
These could include the option of paying in instalments to help spread the cost of obtaining a suitable policy, he concludes.
He warns those considering driving with no cover that "the laws are there" to prevent them from doing so.
