16 September 2008

New guide offered to university studentsInsurance company Saga is offering a survival guide for students, published together with the Home Office, police and National Union of Students.

The guide advises students on how to lower their risk of being burgled whilst at university, and includes information on carrying out a security check when looking for places to live.

Andrew Goodsell, Chief Executive of Saga Group said: "For many students, making new friends and socialising will be high on their agenda with security barely even registering on the list."

In related news, Money.co.uk recently reported figures from the Fair Investment Company which show about four in ten UK households do not have any home insurance.

The firm says that 57 per cent of men have home insurance and 64 per cent of women. According to data in the company's study one in ten people in the UK live in a home at "serious" risk of flooding.
