Credit crunch giving UK women sleepless nights
13 November 2008
Women in the UK are more stressed out about their financial state than men, it has been claimed.
Nearly 6 out of 10 females said they were fearful over the condition of their finances but less than half of men surveyed said this was a concern for them.
A survey from Bupa reveals that almost half of women say they feel anxious everyday compared with four out of ten men, with women also saying they feel pressured in their workplace during the current climate.
The health of their families was another concern for the women surveyed, with more than a third admitting worrying about their families' wellbeing kept them up at night.
Bupa suggest that regular exercise and a healthy diet can help to beat stress but the research also shows that less than one in five women say they are members of a gym or sports club.
However, eating healthier could be about to get more difficulty, as the National Farmers Union warns that new EU rules on pesticide could see the price of vegetables double.![]()
