Premium bond holder scoops £1 million

04 April 2007

Premium bond holder scoops £1 millionThe holder of a relatively small set of premium bonds has won £1 million just four months after re-investing a previous £50 win.

Based in Hounslow, west London, the anonymous winner held one of the two winning bonds drawn out for April's jackpot prize.

The winner, who is said to have re-invested the £50 on his parents' advice, told the BBC that his parents may yet benefit from their sound reasoning.

He said: "I don't know what I'm going to do with the money, maybe a new computer, perhaps something for the folks for the suggestion."

As well as this, he envisaged purchasing "something for my sister and some time off work to seriously celebrate".

The second monthly winner, also unnamed, comes from the Scottish city of Aberdeen.

It is reported that this is the first time Hounslow has been home to a jackpot winner in the premium bonds scheme.
